For the past 8 years, I have been blessed to teach here at SMS. Over the years of being here, I have taught 7th grade Math for 6 years, 6th grade Math for 1 year, and 1 year in the Stem classroom. This year, I have to opportunity to show my passion and love for Math to all the 8th graders. My goal is to help all students develop confidence in themselves while learning AND understanding Math in a fun learning environment. As William Paul Thurston said, " Math is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about UNDERSTANDING." Besides teaching my students all of the lovely things they need to know to prepare them to be successful in their upcoming years, I want to be able to develop a relationship with my students and just let them know that "THEY MATTER" and that they "ARE LOVED." Sometimes, as adults, we can forget why we got into this profession. My goal is to make a difference in my students. Outside of teaching, I love spending my time with my two wonderful kiddos- Bella and Jaxon. I also love doing a variety of things like playing xbox, kayaking, fishing, hiking, softball, and working out. Whether I am in the classroom teaching or living my outside life, I like to have fun. I look forward to this year and all the fun that students and I can have together learning and growing.
