Subjects Taught

Welcome To My Class

My name is Kristie Hand and I am excited about the opportunity to be your
language arts teacher this year. This is my thirteenth year teaching at South
Middle School. I was born and raised in Franklin County and I am an alumnus
of South myself. Having run track and played basketball for the Lady Trojans
years ago, my blood runs Green and Gold and I am very proud to be a part of
the South Middle School faculty. I have an Associates Degree from Motlow State
and a Bachelors Degree from Tennessee Tech with a certification to teach
grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. I am an avid reader myself and I love
exploring the power of the written word with my students. I live in Winchester
with my husband, Johnny, and our twin daughters, Jada and Jena. My daughters
are nine years old and I love playing with them and watching them grow. My husband
and I are big sports fans as well and we enjoy cheering the Trojans and the Rebels on to victory.

Open A Book And Open Your Mind

Anything can happen when reading. Exotic places can be visited. Dragons can
be slayed. Historic figures can come to life. Inspiration can be found. The
written word stokes the fires of imagination and we will utilize the tools of
writing and reading to discover together the magic of written words and to
explore the unlimited possibilities found within the pages of books.
