SMS student wins at Tennessee History Day in Nashville

Congratulations Olivia Pender!

South Middle School students Olivia Pender, Lyman Boudreau, Lily Hill, Eden Sells and Alyia Nave attended the Tennessee History Day competition on Saturday, April 7 at the State Capitol Complex in Nashville.

This year’s theme was “Conflict and Compromise”. Olivia Pender placed 3rd in the state for her individual performance of “Dinner with FDR: Serving Alphabet Soup” in which she discussed the Great Depression and the New Deal. Olivia is the alternate to go to the National History Day competition at the University of Maryland in June.
